Seahouses & the surrounding area
The Farne Islands
Seahouses is the stepping stone for trips to The Farne Islands, which lie three miles off the coast. They are the most famous Sea Bird Sanctuary in the British Isles and they also have a large colony of grey seals.
In the breeding season it is home to several types of nesting seabirds such as terns, puffins, guillemots, shags, eider ducks and kittiwakes - very noisy!
There are several trips each day to the islands, which can be booked from the harbour. While birdwatchers have plenty to watch above water water divers can explore numerous wrecks, sometimes with some help from the inquisitive seals.
There are also Boats that take Sea Angling Trips out. There is quite a variety of Fish to be caught and all equipment can be hired on the Boat. These Trips can be booked at the Harbour and operate most days in the Summer..
This area is a golfers paradise as there are 16 golf courses within 35 miles of here. Seahouses golf course is a five minute walk from the guest house. Golf club hire is available in Seahouses.
